Life in Bangladesh
Long commutes, long hours and a crowded job market. Exams, admissions and family hopes resting on your career. Marriage decisions, joint-family life, and relatives working abroad.
Mantraminds offers a calm, confidential space to talk it through with someone who understands, without having to explain your culture first.
How we support people in Bangladesh
Bangladesh and India share language, culture and family ties across the border. Many people who contact us from Bangladesh want to talk to someone outside their own social circle: confidentially, by video, and without worrying about being recognised.
What people in Bangladesh often talk to us about:
- admission tests, job competition and civil service exams;
- family members working abroad, and the pressure of supporting relatives;
- marriage and family expectations;
- long commutes and the pace of life in Dhaka and Chattogram;
- balancing study, work and family duties.
Times that can feel heavier: exam and results seasons, and Eid and Durga Puja, when family expectations run high.
Our local support page lists free services in your area.

Important information
About our counsellors. Mantraminds is based in India, and we hope to support people wherever they live. Our Well-being Counsellors are qualified and experienced in India, and some hold Indian registrations. Overseas qualifications and registrations do not give anyone registration to practise in Bangladesh. Our counsellors are not registered with any Bangladeshi licensing body (Bangladesh has no statutory register for counsellors or psychologists). When they work with clients in Bangladesh, they act only as Well-being Counsellors, not as psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists or medical practitioners.
What this service doesn't provide. Our service is not a Bangladeshi psychology, psychiatry or medical service. It doesn't provide:
- medical, psychiatric or psychological diagnosis, or diagnostic assessment;
- treatment of any mental health condition;
- prescribing, or advice on starting, stopping or changing medication;
- medical certificates, reports, letters or certificates for legal, insurance, employment, immigration or court purposes;
- emergency or crisis care.
When to seek care in Bangladesh. If you have a diagnosed or suspected mental health condition, symptoms that are significant or getting worse, need medication or medical advice, or are already receiving mental health treatment, please seek or continue care with a doctor, the psychiatry department of a medical college hospital, or the National Institute of Mental Health in Dhaka. If your counsellor thinks you need clinical care, they will tell you and suggest local services.
Claims and reimbursement. Sessions can't be claimed through government hospitals, private health insurance, or employer medical schemes, and may not qualify for workplace or employer reimbursement. Please check with your employer before booking.
Your choice. Local services are available to you. By booking, you confirm you've chosen an India-based, non-clinical service instead, knowing the points above. Because our counsellors aren't registered locally, local regulators can't take complaints about them. Please bring any concern to us at contact@mantraminds.com.
In an emergency, call 999 or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital. You can also contact Kaan Pete Roi (emotional support and suicide prevention): call 09612 119911.
This doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.
Frequently asked questions
What is Mantraminds?
Mantraminds is an India-based mental well-being service. It offers online, non-clinical well-being counselling for adults in English, Hindi and other Indian languages, in 23 countries outside India, including Bangladesh.
How much does online counselling with Mantraminds cost in Bangladesh?
BDT 3,500 per 50-minute session, paid one session at a time. Book at least one day ahead. There are no packages or lock-in.
Can I talk to a counsellor in Hindi from Bangladesh?
Yes. Sessions are offered in English, Hindi and other Indian languages, depending on counsellor availability. Tell us your preferred language when you sign up and we'll match you with a counsellor who speaks it, where we can.
What time are sessions in Bangladesh?
Sessions run during India daytime hours, within each counsellor's own availability. For example, a 4:30 PM India-time session is at 5:00 PM in Dhaka. Your booking page shows every time in your local time. We're not a 24/7 service.
Where can I get free mental health support in Bangladesh?
Kaan Pete Roi (emotional support and suicide prevention): call 09612 119911 (Daily 3pm-3am (not 24/7)). In an emergency, call 999. For ongoing care, you can speak to a doctor, the psychiatry department of a medical college hospital, or the National Institute of Mental Health in Dhaka. Our local support page lists more free services.
Is this therapy?
No. Mantraminds provides well-being counselling: support with stress, relationships, parenting and life changes. It isn't diagnosis or treatment of a mental health condition. For that, please see a doctor, the psychiatry department of a medical college hospital, or the National Institute of Mental Health in Dhaka.
Are your counsellors registered in Bangladesh?
No. Our counsellors are qualified in India and provide a non-clinical well-being service. They are not registered in Bangladesh, use only their Indian titles and registrations (always shown with "(India)"), and don't provide psychology services.
Can I claim it on insurance?
No. All sessions are paid directly.
Where are your counsellors based?
In India. Sessions take place online by secure video during India daytime hours, shown in your local time. We're not a 24/7 service.
How will you contact me?
By email, which is our preferred way to communicate, or through the chat on this website. We also ask for your WhatsApp number when you sign up, and use it only if we need to reach you urgently, for example about your safety or a session that can't go ahead.
Can I book a session for today?
Usually not. Please book at least one day ahead (India time). Same-day sessions are offered only in exceptional cases, if a counsellor happens to be free. If you need support today, see the free services on our local support page. You pay when you book.
Do I have to commit to a set number of sessions?
No. You pay for one session at a time and can stop whenever you like.
What if I join late?
Your session still ends at its scheduled time. If you haven't joined within 15 minutes, it counts as a no-show and isn't refunded. If your counsellor is late, we'll make up the time or give you session credit.
How will the payment appear on my statement?
As MANTRAMINDS. You pay when you book. If you cancel in time, we refund the full amount to your card (your bank decides how quickly it shows). If anything looks wrong, email care@mantraminds.com and we'll sort it out.
Is my information safe?
Yes. Your information is stored securely in India and handled in line with our International Privacy Policy.
Do you offer psychiatry or medication?
No, not for clients outside India.
