Mantraminds offers non-clinical well-being counselling. If you need more support than we can offer, such as care from a doctor, a mental health professional or a specialist service, free and confidential help is available across Australia, and the options below are a good place to start.

Getting mental health care
Start with your GP
A GP is usually the best first step. Ask for a longer appointment and say you'd like to talk about your mental health. Your GP can assess how you're going and, if it's right for you, prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan. This lets you claim Medicare rebates for sessions with a psychologist or other mental health professional.
If you're on a temporary visa and not eligible for Medicare, your GP can still help — check what your overseas student or visitor health cover includes.
