Life in Denmark
Life in Denmark can mean a residence permit tied to your employer, a tight housing market in Copenhagen and Aarhus, and learning Danish while your workplace runs in English. Many people are building careers in tech, pharma, engineering or research, supporting a partner who is looking for work, or raising children between two cultures with family far away. Short winter days and a culture where close friendships can take time can make it lonelier than it looks.
Mantraminds offers a calm, confidential space to talk it through with someone who understands, without having to explain your culture first.
Supporting Indian families across Denmark
Indian families and professionals live across Denmark, most often in and around Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense. Many work in IT, engineering, life sciences, research and health care, or have come to study at Danish universities.
What people in Denmark often talk to us about:
- settling in and finding friends in a new country;
- learning Danish while managing work and family;
- raising children between Indian and Danish ways of life;
- a partner's career pause or job search after a move;
- work pressure, career changes and permit uncertainty.
Times that can feel heavier: the dark months from November to February, Indian festivals spent away from family, and the first year after a move.

What our service is — and isn't
Mantraminds offers well-being counselling for adults (18+): support with life's everyday challenges. To keep you safe, we're clear about what we don't offer in Denmark:
- No diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions
- No psychiatric consultations or medication
- No sessions for under-18s (we support parents instead)
- No crisis or emergency care
If our team feels you'd benefit from clinical care, we'll tell you honestly and help you find local services.
Need urgent help?
If you're in crisis or feel unsafe, please don't wait for a session:
- Emergency: call 112
- Livslinien (in Danish; for crisis or thoughts of suicide): Call 70 201 201 · chat at livslinien.dk (Daily 9am–5am)
Important information
About our counsellors. Mantraminds is based in India, and we hope to support people wherever they live. Our Well-being Counsellors are qualified and experienced in India, and some hold Indian registrations. Overseas qualifications and registrations do not give anyone registration to practise in Denmark. Our counsellors are not registered with the Danish Patient Safety Authority (Styrelsen for Patientsikkerhed) and are not on its authorisation register for psychologists. When they work with clients in Denmark, they act only as Well-being Counsellors, not as psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists or medical practitioners.
What this service doesn't provide. Our service is not a Danish psychology, psychiatry or medical service. It doesn't provide:
- medical, psychiatric or psychological diagnosis, or diagnostic assessment;
- treatment of any mental health condition;
- prescribing, or advice on starting, stopping or changing medication;
- medical certificates, reports, letters or certificates for legal, insurance, employment, immigration or court purposes;
- emergency or crisis care.
When to seek care in Denmark. If you have a diagnosed or suspected mental health condition, symptoms that are significant or getting worse, need medication or medical advice, or are already receiving mental health treatment, please seek or continue care with your own doctor (egen læge), or the out-of-hours lægevagt (1813 in the Capital Region). If your counsellor thinks you need clinical care, they will tell you and suggest local services.
Claims and reimbursement. Sessions can't be claimed through the public health insurance (sygesikring), including psychologist sessions referred by your doctor, private health insurance (sundhedsforsikring) or employer health schemes, and may not qualify for workplace or employer reimbursement. Please check with your employer before booking.
Your choice. Local services are available to you. By booking, you confirm you've chosen an India-based, non-clinical service instead, knowing the points above. Because our counsellors aren't registered locally, local regulators can't take complaints about them. Please bring any concern to us at contact@mantraminds.com.
In an emergency, call 112 or go to your nearest emergency department (akutmodtagelse). You can also contact Livslinien (in Danish; for crisis or thoughts of suicide) (call 70 201 201 · chat at livslinien.dk).
This doesn't affect your rights under the Danish Consumer Contracts Act (forbrugeraftaleloven), including your right to cancel within 14 days (see our Cancellation & Refund Policy ).
