Samaira Dean

Samaira Dean is a Child Psychologist with over 7 years of experience supporting children and families across a wide range of developmental, behavioural and emotional needs. She holds a master’s degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Child Guidance and Family Counselling. Her background also includes Rehabilitation Psychology and training in expressive arts therapy.

Her experience includes working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), developmental delays, learning challenges and conduct-related difficulties. She also supports children navigating anxiety, grief and bereavement, parental separation and divorce, emotional regulation difficulties and challenges in social relationships.

Samaira follows a compassionate, child-centred approach that recognises each child’s strengths, needs and ways of experiencing the world. Depending on the child’s needs, she incorporates play-based interventions, behavioural strategies, emotional regulation techniques and expressive arts-based approaches.

Her work focuses on helping children understand and express their emotions, develop everyday skills, build social connections and strengthen their confidence and independence. Her professional experience includes early intervention, individualised education planning, parent counselling and caregiver training.

Samaira works collaboratively with parents and caregivers to support progress beyond therapy sessions. She looks beyond diagnoses and behaviours to understand the child behind them, helping families develop practical strategies for everyday challenges and stronger relationships.
