Finding the right support in Trinidad and Tobago
Mantraminds offers non-clinical well-being counselling. If you need more support than we can offer, such as care from a doctor, a mental health professional or a specialist service, free and confidential help is available in Trinidad and Tobago, and the options below are a good place to start.
If you are in danger right now
If your life, or someone else's, is at risk, call 999 (police) or 811 (ambulance).
If you need to talk to someone now:
| Service | How to reach them | When |
|---|---|---|
| Lifeline Trinidad and Tobago | Call 800-5588 or 866-5433 (free from bmobile and Digicel) · 220-3636 (FLOW to FLOW) | 24/7 |
Calls to Lifeline are confidential, and you don't have to give your name.
Getting mental health care
Start with a doctor
A doctor is usually the best first step. Tell them you'd like to talk about your mental health. They can assess how you're doing and, if it's right for you, refer you to a mental health professional.
Public mental health services
Each Regional Health Authority offers community mental health services, including outpatient clinics. Your local health centre can tell you how to access them.
If you're not a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, please check with your Regional Health Authority what public services you can use. Your doctor can still help.
