Finding the right support in Sweden

Mantraminds offers non-clinical well-being counselling. If you need more support than we can offer, such as care from a doctor, a mental health professional or a specialist service, free and confidential help is available across Sweden, and the options below are a good place to start.

Prefer English? 1177 can give healthcare advice in several languages. The support lines below mainly work in Swedish, but it's fine to ask whether someone can speak English with you.

If you are in danger right now

If your life, or someone else's, is at risk, call 112.

If you need to talk to someone now:

Service How to reach them When
Självmordslinjen (Mind, in Swedish) Call 90101 · chat at mind.se 24/7
Jourhavande medmänniska (in Swedish) Call 08-702 16 80 Daily 9pm–6am

Getting mental health care

Start with your vårdcentral

Your vårdcentral (health centre) is usually the best first step. Ask for an appointment and say you'd like to talk about your mental health. They can listen, look at what's going on and, if it's right for you, connect you with a counsellor, psychologist or other mental health care.

1177

  • Phone: 1177, day and night, for advice about illness and where to get care. Help is available in several languages.
  • Online: 1177.se has information about mental health and helps you find care near you.
