Accessing Clinical Care in New Zealand

1. Start with your General Practitioner (GP)

Your local GP or family doctor is the best first step. They can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe necessary medications, and refer you to public health programs (such as NHS Talking Therapies in England, Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plans in Australia, or Community Mental Health teams in Singapore/NZ).

2. Confidentiality & Language Interpreting

In the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, public health services provide free, confidential language interpreters (including Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, and Tamil). You can request an interpreter when booking your GP consultation.
